Ellis Island Documentary Video Reflection

- Our project goal was to receive a better understanding of what the immigrants went through when they went through the Ellis Island process.

- As a group we researched the polish culture to understand our characters better, we also researched a lot about the Ellis Island simulation and what the the journey to America was like. We then created a script based off of what we learned and from there we were able to make our documentary video.

- To improve our video we could have gone more into detail about what our character’s lives were like after we made it through Ellis Island. We also could have maybe been a little more enthusiastic for our viewers.

- To improve this activity, maybe tell the students to be more creative and have fun with it so then it can be more entertaining and less boring for them to watch the others in class. The most enjoyable part was watching the video after it was completed and laughing at how funny we looked in our costumes and how our fake accents sound.
